Mother's Day Tribute

As the work day was ending Friday I was thinking of all the boring things I should get done while Mitch was at work that evening. Amidst my thoughts however, Nina called to let me know that they had two extra tickets to the Jazz playoff game against the Lakers. How convenient! Mitch got work off and we hurried up there just in time to see David Archuleta sing the national anthem! That kid is so little!

Brent's company has a suite so we received luxury treatment with food AND a bathroom in the suite...I am pretty sure that was Mitch's favorite part. I told Mitch to enjoy this night as it will most likely be the only playoff game we will ever go to. Thanks to Brent and Nina!

On Saturday we celebrated our friend Rodd's birthday, bbq style. I need to get better at taking the camera with us to document such events on the blog, but I am still learning. It was fun and I am grateful to have such good friends close by.

Sunday was mother's day. Let me just say that I am blessed. I love my mom. I truly think she is perfect and wish to be just like her. My top ten fav things about mom Vicki:

1. She is so pleasant and cheerful (it is kind of contagious).
2. She is truly pure in heart.
3. She always goes without so that others do not.
4. A great example of being frugal when you don't have to be.
5. Uses every moment to teach (I can now say I appreciate those "chore lists" in the summertime).
6. So reliable and trustworthy.
7. Likes to laugh and have fun.
8. Serves and serves and serves others.
9. Great cook...and can always make a meal out of nothing!
10. Unconditionally loving.

I am also blessed with a fabulous mother-in-law (and father-in-law of course)! In the short time I've known my mother-in-law I've already observed and learned so much that is good. My favorite top ten things about my mom Jo:

1. Loves meeting new people and can see the good in everyone.
2. Loves to learn and share her wisdom.
3. Survived Mitch's brutal teenage years.
4. Honest and genuine.
5. Also likes to laugh and have fun.
6. Also pleasant and cheerful.
7. Patient and humble.
8. Has enduring faith and reliance on the Lord.
9. Says it how it is.
10. Radiates her love for others.
