Pound for Pound Friday (PfPf) - Best Movie Trilogy Series

Okay so this is the first pound for pound friday topic: What is the best movie trilogy series, pound for pound? After much thought I have decided on the Lord of the Rings trilogy (gooo ganndolllffffff! That is from conan o'brien if any of you are fans...).

If you would like to know on what points I based my judgment:

-Storyline. I love the story. A simple but beautiful good defeats evil.

-Characters. There are so many great characters! You come to love several. There isn't just one hero. Even the bad guys are so bad that you can't help but respect them.. a little.

-Cinematography. Didn't it win like a million academy awards for this? It was incredible.

-Good acting. I love all of the actors/actresses that portrayed each role.

-Good closure. I loved all of the 8-10 endings. So much good closure. The end of a movie can make or break a movie for me.

-Last: Each of the movies is strong on its own. I thoroughly enjoyed each one and think this is a serious flaw in several trilogies...where the second movie is weak, or even the first and last are weak.

Some runner's up in my mind were the Die Hard Trilogy, Bourne Series, and the Original Star Wars. What do you think?

It's me again, Celete's friend. I don't really like any trilogy's. I've seen a few but not really into them. I like your idea for Friday's. I am leaving a comment hoping you will do it again next Friday. Perhaps I'll have an opinion then!

Kristen-
I am showing Craig and Amy all of our blogs (they have never seen them) and we are dying laughing that my friend Alison, is posting on your blog! isn't she the greatest!!!!???!!!!
Craig agrees with you about the Lord of the Rings. I wasn't a Lord of the Rings fan-too much after I had Chase and I was sure someone was giving birth somewhere with all those disgusting characters around-scary thought for a new mom!
I would have to go for the Bourne trilogy even though I haven't seen the second one-I loved the first and third!!!!
I acutally would vote for Harry Potter, but then that's not a trilogoy is it?

So Paul would totally like you since Lord of the Rings is his favorite...like almost every male I know. But I think I agree. But the original Star Wars takes a close second. It's hard to top Harrison Ford.
