I have pictures for each paragraph of this post...but the camera is in my car and I am lazy. I will include them in a future post.
Mitch has a favorite snow cone place in Orem called Summer Sno. It opens every Memorial Day Weekend and closes at Labor Day Weekend. We are watching Brent & Nina’s kids (and we had our other niece Jamyn for the weekend from Washington) so we took them to Summer Sno…the first of the summer, after attempting to go swimming (it was way too cold). It was amazing as always and I think I am now addicted to the snow cone mixed with ice cream. Not as good as the shave ice in Hawaii, but it is a reasonable alternative. If anyone wants to go, we are always looking for a good excuse to eat there.
We also took the kids to the Nickelcade. Even though that place feels so dirty (like you are getting some virus from touching the machines), it is great family entertainment for the price! It was only $15 for 6 of us plus everyone got a bag of nickels (I did use coupons however). Plus, they now stock a HUGE bottle of hand sanitizer to use. Forrest won over 750 tickets from some game and wanted to use them all to buy flavored tootsie rolls…and he did.
Somewhere between swimming, eating snow cones and the nickelcade, I managed to sneak away for a little while to get a pedicure with mom and Ashley. It was much needed.
Then I came home, made carrot cake to celebrate Jamyn’s birthday (which was on Tuesday), and then we spent the night watching movies and eating junk food.
All-in-all I feel it was quite the productive Saturday.
