Sorry if you find this picture disturbing, because I know I do. Last Friday we had a marathon day. I will start the story off in the early evening where we had an awesome wedding dinner for my cousin Natalie and her new husband Tony! It was fun to be with family. A bunch of the cousins went out for ice cream afterwards and at this point I was totally beat. It was about 9:30 pm and it felt like midnight. I was ready to crawl into bed. Little did I know our fun was just beginning for the night.
If anyone knows my brother Todd, they know he is a fishing fanatic. He loves to fish. Because a bunch of cousins were in town he suggested we do some night fishing. I immediately thought, sounds fun but no thanks. Who knew that husbands and wives sometimes don't think alike though? Mitch immediately promised Todd he would go. Our niece and nephew (Jocie and Sterling) had also driven down from Idaho that night to visit and they were all up for a late night of fishing.
So it was decided that we would meet everyone at Utah Lake, build a fire and catch some fish. We finally got there at about midnight and built a bonfire, set up some chairs and the catching began. The funny thing is, is that Utah Lake has disgusting fish. They were just doing catch and release, but it was still gross. They kept catching nasty catfish, and then my niece Jocie caught a giant, disgusting carp.
It was fun to just be with family and make smores, but when 3 am rolled around I was ready to greet my bed. I think it took me all weekend to recover. I am getting old....Pictures of this event will be coming, ugly fish and all.

but you made your brother sooooo happy. :) and i didn't realize that he didn't get home until 3am! i would never have made it that late, or i guess, early! no wonder he slept through conference...
Man! I really wish we could have gone, you make that sound like a real blast!
Whether or you like it or not, I definitely think there should be a "next" time.....
there is no way i could have stayed up that late! you are a trooper!
Yeah---I totally would have been on your side. There are few things worth staying up until 3:00AM for, and gross fish are not on my list =)
