Happy Thanksgiving (early) to everyone!! I spent last night making pomegranate jello. If you have never tried it you are missing out on life. I only make it once a year but it is so worth the wait. At least I think so anyway....
The 10-hour work days make it difficult to get things done on weeknights, so yesterday I took off a little early from work to run some errands and get ready for Thanksgiving day. Even then by the time it was 6-7 ish I still didn't have anything for dinner. I wasn't in the mood to cook but wanted something good. Then my visiting teacher showed up at my door with homemade chicken noodle soup and breadsticks hot from the oven. It was such a wonderful surprise AND so delish. I am so grateful for being surrounded by such wonderful people!
So...to make a very cliche (but nonetheless genuine) Thanksgiving list:
1. I am grateful for my husband. He is such a great support and joy in my life. I can't imagine life without him.
2. I am grateful for my family.
3. I am grateful for the comforts of life (temporal).
4. I am grateful for the gospel.
5. I am grateful for opportunities to serve.
6. I am grateful for being blessed with good friends.
7. I am grateful for challenges that help me grow.
8. I am grateful for time to change and become better.
9. I am grateful for good food.
10. I am grateful to be expecting our first baby! (I guess that is sort of a weak announcement if you didn't already know...)
We are 4 months along and get to find out the gender in a couple of weeks. So far so good! We are excited, nervous, anxious and freaked out. I am assuming that is normal though.....
Hope everyone has a good turkey day. Mitch and I are running a 5k in the morning. Well...I probably will be walking. Hopefully we survive.

CONGRATS you two! That's so exciting!!! I'm so happy for you. You are in for the most amazing time of your life! It's the best being a parent. You're going to be great ones too. :-)
Hooray! So exciting. It is a kind of strange announcement to make. I didn't want to just walk up to people and say, "I'm expecting," but yet I wanted them to know. Parenting is wonderful! Good luck with the pregnancy.
I'll be basically walking to...so no need to worry! I am SO glad you guys decided to do it though, we are way excited to have you guys there.
And....will you be bringing this pomegranate jello to Donna's? Cause I really hope so......
We are so excited for you two! You are going to have the cutest baby. Not to mention be wonderful parents. We will be in Utah for the holidays, we would love to get together. We also want to help out if you are going to help a family this year. Also, how do you know the Iversons? I just saw that Melanie commented. They are in our ward here in Lubbock. Crazy small world.
So exciting! Congratulations!
11. I am grateful Valynne always beats Mitch at Dominoes.
12. I am grateful that Valynne teaches me humility when she beats me every time we play Boggle.
13. I am grateful that my pregnancy is nothing like Valynne's pregnancies.
14. I am grateful that Valynne never repeats the embarrassing story of when I called a radio station, won a contest, and was so excited that I made a total fool of myself.
15. I am grateful that Valynne will post the ugly picture of my foot as soon as she finds it.
your pomegranate jello is so completely worth it! especially for us who enjoyed it and didn't have anything to do with shelling the stupid pomegranates!
