Some Crafts As of Late....

I feel like everyone in this world, especially in Utah does everything homemade now. As I thought about this it kind of bugged me, even though I include myself in that category. I have problems I know. Then I thought, who cares. I LIKE to make stuff. It's a recession!!!!! Plus it just seems homemade stuff is so much cuter.

Okay...so some of these projects are old, but I thought I would share them anyways. If any of you are like me, I am always looking for a fun and easy project.

So a WHILE back I read this post by the amazing Rhonna Farrer (she is super talented and use to be my visiting teacher). Is that a claim to fame? I think so. So my sis and I made a bunch. This one is slightly altered (from her instructions). Instead of one big long piece, we cut out ovals from the ribbon, melted the edges and then sewed the layers together. I just super glued a fake pearl on this one, then sewed it onto a headband.

This is the I Spy bag I made for Keilani. I also made a few for gifts. I didn't think she would like it until she was older, but she actually loves it now (and I am hoping she will in the future too). I used this tutorial but again altered it slightly. I sewed a pocket on the back for the list and the filler I used was bird seed. The hard part of this was finding cute little knick knacks to put inside.
Lastly, my mom found an awesome sewing pattern sale and got me some patterns for 99 cents! She found me a real baby shoe pattern to use. Even though Keilani is too big/old/walking, I wanted to make some for gifts. I used one of the patterns and again altered it to look a bit more up to date. I gave these to my good friend Leah for her beautiful new (ish) baby!

This is another pair in a different color for another friend about to have her baby!!

I have my list of things "to make" which is always growing and I am pacing myself as I still have no time and being a wife and mom is still my number one priority (even if I don't do it very well all the time). BUT I will share as I complete because it is all about sharing. How else would I find cute stuff to make?

When do you start taking orders? The flower headbands would also be cute as flower ponytail holders. Just an idea (hint, hint)!
