Our Summer Thus Far...

Can you really believe that July is almost over? Seriously. Now that summer is almost over let me share the highlights. We started this month off with my birthday. I made my own cake (at my request) as I had been craving a Lemon cake VERY badly. It turned out pretty good and very lemony.

Then we experienced possibly the WORST sickness yet with Keilani. She had an infection in her mouth so she had sores all inside her mouth. She couldn't eat or drink and was in pain and the doctor told us we could only give her ibuprofen and orajel and that it would be a long 5-7 days until it cleared up. I seriously think I am going to block that week out of my mind. It was rough and I felt so bad for Keilani. She wasn't completely better, but we had our family reunion on Mitch's side so we just braved the journey hoping she would get mostly better while we were there. And thankfully she did.

Our reunion was up in Ashton, Idaho. We rented out a lodge/barn and it was SO FUN!!! It was big enough to fit all of Mitch's siblings and parents and it was so nice inside. We stopped at this little gas station half-way and Keilani decided to pose for some pictures:

While at the reunion we got to go canoeing and horseback riding. Keilani had so much fun experiencing new things and being surrounded by cousins who loved her and wanted to play with her.

I think I was more scared for Keilani then she was to have her go horseback riding. She actually wanted to go alone...

I think the helmet was the cutest.

The reunion ended too quickly and we are excited for the next one! After we got back I decided to take a week off of work and attempt potty-training with Keilani. NOT successful. She is just not ready and I am not going to force it, but she did make vast improvements. And I did get this cute picture:

We have been enjoying the warm summer nights and being outside. She also has started to really like getting her picture taken (if she can immediately look to see what it looks like). What a ham:

And I really don't like this picture of me (I've tried to avoid the camera as it is not pleasant when you are 7 months pregnant in the hot summer), but I thought she was so cute so I thought I would share it too:

We still have a lot of swimming to do before summer ends. And I have a lot to do to prepare for our next bundle of joy! And Mitch graduates in less than 3 weeks so I will try to keep everyone posted. Hope everyone else is having a wonderful summer!!!

She is such a little girl now! Kristen- you are a beautiful pregnant woman! Was Keilani's helmet the cutest or Mitch's? Either way, it all looks like fun.

she is so cute! Several years ago I had a ton of sores inside my mouth - we tried counting them but they started connecting so it was hard to count, but I had about 20. So I totally empathize with poor little Keilani! It was SO painful. Glad she's better though!

Cute! I've been wondering about you. Now that we're close by again we should get together sometime (or if you ever need help with Kelani, let me know!)
