Auntie Shorty

Sorry if you get tired of me sharing stories about my nieces, but they are the fun diversion to a monotonous day. Valynne posted this one yesterday and I laughed so hard. Read about it here. Sorry to those of you who already read Valynne's blog...okay enough apologies.

I'll give you some background about me and Kea (the one who wrote the message). I babysat Kea when she was a newborn until about 6 or 7 months old (I had that much time to wait before leaving on my mission). It was just the two of us everyday and needless to say it was the hardest to say goodbye to her when I left. I knew she was the one who would change the most in the 18 months I would be gone. So...I have a close attachment to her and I think it makes the funny things she says seem even more funny to me. Of course I love my other nieces and nephews too! Being an auntie is the greatest. I do like to think I am the favorite "Auntie Kris"...okay probably not. There are 3 other Auntie Kris': Auntie Chris, Auntie Kirsten, Auntie Cristi and we all get the same generic "Auntie Kris" name. It is much less complicated on Mitch's side where I am just known as "Auntie Shorty". I love it and yet I am hardly deserving of such endearing niecehood/nephewhood love.
