Father's Day

I have been meaning to do a post about Father's Day. I know dad doesn't read this, but for everyone else reading this I just want you to know how much I truly appreciate him. He has mellowed out with age and wisdom and I just love him. Also my father-in-law is the kindest and sweetest man. I am blessed to have both in my life. To Mitch: I think everyone knows how special he is to me. He always talks about how lucky he was to find me....but I don't think everyone understands how patient and caring he is to me. I always promise him that I didn't USE to be this emotional and crazy....

Why the picture? This was Mitch's belated Father's Day gift. Belated because I forgot this is what he really wanted until about 11:30 the night before Father's Day. I had already gotten him a tie. I gave this to him last night and he was so happy. This post and picture is to help me remember that this is what I need to get him next Father's Day and every Father's Day afterwards. YES! I am set for life. I guess this is a magazine that provides statistics, rankings, game schedules, promising players/teams, predictions, etc for the western region's college football teams. (Was that a good description Mitch?)

I also bought this book for my niece which was one of my favorite books growing up:

It is kind of a wierd story as I re-read it last night, but hey it is a caldecott winner. Did you know that when this book came out that there was a lot of controversy over the animals and what they were portraying? It was even banned in some states/places in the US. Who knew.

Hey Kirsten,

This is Alison, Celeste's friend. I came to your house last summer and ate yummy chicken. Anyway, you have the cutest pictures on your blog. And you have a cute blog. I would like to know, where did you get that magazine subscription? I'll look for it online. I think that would be the best gift ever for my husband. He'll stay in the bathroom forever with that! Hope you guys are doing good!

Hi Alison! Of course I remember! We love you and hope to see you again soon someday. The magazine is actually not a subscription...it is just a magazine. I got it at Borders. You can get it anywhere with sports magazines. Mitch loves it!

Okay, just checking - I didn't miss an announcement did I? Is Mitch going to be a father?? Not that you can't get him something if he's not, but it did make me wonder! Just tell me if I'm being too nosy ;)

Ha,ha....no Mitch is not going to be a father...yet anyways. We were just celebrating his future father-dom. Believe me...I am sure the whole world will know when we are so fortunate to grace the world with our offspring!
