THE OFFICE!!!
This was a hard one. Not because there are SO many good comedies on tv, but just a few really good ones. Here are the reasons it comes out on top:
The Office has consistently proved that it is funny worldwide. It was successful not only in the UK, but also the US AND Japan!
Strength of characters. Each character is so different and hilarious. If the show were missing any of the characters something would be wrong.
Strength of episodes. I think I have loved every episode. There is something great/funny about each one.
Keeps you wanting more. It does its duty as a comedy to make you laugh, but the drama between Jim and Pam!!!! There is just enough drama to make it a nail-biter!
Nothing like it. There is literally no other comedy like this one! It is so unique and different and they took a huge risk. It deserves our respect!
Strength of a Re-run. It doesn’t matter if I have already seen an episode before. I can still sit down and watch an episode over and over again and it is STILL funny. I can probably only do that with a few other shows (Anne of Green Gables, Jane Austen movies, etc.)

I agree!!! I love the Office. I love that the characters aren't flashy. Really, who would think that Kevin and Phylis would be such a hit? I like how the characters have a very distinctive personality. Being the chick flicker I am, I love the Pam and Jim story. I also feel the same way about the repeats. I can watch them over and over again. Almost every episode has been my favorite except for the sexual harassment one. I read in Time Magazine that if there isn't a Michael Scott in your office than you are Michael Scott! Good choice!
We love The Office for sure!! My brother keeps telling us we need to watch 30 Rock, so we'll have to check it out. We also laughed really hard watching Flight of the Conchords....a little different at first, but hilarious the more you watch! It's cheap on DVD at Target.
Okay - I have a question for you! How have you and Mitch been able to keep motivated and strong doing the Body for Life? How do you grocery shop and make all the meals throughout the day? I bought the cookbook and started it a few times, but I think I need Michael to do it with me to really be successful, but he's afraid he'll still be hungry eating smaller portions!
Absolutely with you on this PFPF! I loved the one where Dwight gets a concussion and is nice to Pam. I'm so glad you mentioned Arrested Development at the end we're just getting into it through NetFlix and laugh out loud in every episode.
We agree! we have office parties with our group of friends and for halloween this year we will all be office characters. it was originally created by ricky garvais and he was the boss in the uk one. Then the US made theirs about 5 years later. They are both really funny. The guy from Pirates who has a fake eye is in the UK one.
Michael Scott gives me anxiety!!!

We really love the office, but we own Arrested Development. That show is so funny.
