To my faithful blog readers...do you remember Mitch's nightmare about the snakes that turned to reality? If not, you can refresh your memory here. A short recap: in April, Mitch had a horrible nightmare about snakes and then later that week he actually saw a real one outside our house. He came running in all frantic and stressed out. I guess he chased it (I still don't know what he would have done if he caught it), and it went under a tool shed in our backyard.
Fast forward to last Saturday (day of the Tanaka Reunion)....we are walking out to the car and I notice a large stick I am about to step on. Thinking I don't want to trip while carrying the carrot cake I had just made, I overstep to avoid the stick which is in a reality THE SNAKE. I calmly step back again and tell Mitch there is a snake in the driveway. Mitch's first reaction is to grab a football lying on the ground and throw it at its head. Fortunately I stopped him before he could, and we just took a picture, got in the car and drove off. Mitch is convinced it is the same snake as before and that it is growing bigger. It may be true.
On Saturday during the lightning/thunder storm we thought it might be cool to take a blanket outside and lay on the grass to watch it...then I reminded Mitch about our little snake friend. That squashed the idea flat. I am starting to feel controlled by this snake. Maybe I should have let Mitch throw the football....

I actually laughed outloud as soon as I read about Mitch and the football. I can totally picture that! My dog makes me feel trapped, but unlike the snake, somehow I actually agreed to letting the dog be a part of my life.
I hate snakes! And being controlled by one is not cool - I hope he moves on and leaves you guys in peace.
Eek! Snakes are creepy. You should Google "snake dreams" and see the symbolism behind them. Then you'll really know what Mitch is thinking.
