Survival of the Fittest

Physical Survival: We survived the soccer game. No serious injuries. However after the game, I took my cleats off and had my flip-flops on. Todd kicked a ball really hard and fast at me as a joke and it hit my toenail basically ripping it in half. It began to gush blood everywhere. I was so close to leaving the field injury-free. Oh well, we will try again next week.

Financial Survival: As I was driving to work this morning I noticed I should probably fill up with gas soon. Don't you hate that feeling? Then I passed a gas station and saw that gas was only $3.85/gallon. It has gone down almost 15 cents these past two weeks. Then I get to work and read an article that says while Utah's gas prices prices are down, they're still among the highest in the nation. Can someone explain how this is possible when Utah's wages are among the lowest? You know something is wrong when I get excited about $3.85...

Emotional Survival: Well, my little sister Ashley left for college last night. We will miss her! She is so far away! What happened to the little girl with her pink blankie and raspy voice? Time seems to be going by faster and faster. What did we do before cell phones, email, im, facebook and blogging? How did I stay in touch with anyone? I barely manage as it is.

Spiritual Survival: Mitch and I both had to give talks in church this month, different Sundays but the same topic. I am glad Mitch went after I did because his talk was MUCH better than mine. You should ask him about it some time. He can enlighten you.

TV Survival: I should be embarrassed to put this in but I am so excited for my "shows" to start again. I normally don't watch much TV, and even when my shows start, it is pretty minimal. My staples? The Office (9/25), 30 Rock (10/30), and Heroes (9/22).

Work Survival: My weekend starts today...yes!

That is so great that you are playing soccer again and that you have survived so far!

If you want to move to Texas I paid $3.55 for gas today. And it is really flat so that is less gas right?
