I had to drive to Park City for work today and as I was exiting I saw one of those "Food at this Exit" signs. To my surprise they had Ruth's Chris Steakhouse listed. I knew there was one in Salt Lake, but I guess there is now one in Park City. I got all excited because this is definitely my favorite place to eat....even though I won't go again for 23 years.
Background: We received a very generous gift card for our wedding from some great friends. It was to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse which (at the time) I had never heard of. Well we open the giftcard and it is for $150. What? Did they mean to write $50? Well, we double check and it is for $150! Generous, I know. Well the problem at the time, was there wasn't one in Utah. Fortunately for us we were in Portland for the summer and there is one there. We made our reservation and it was amazing.
-The atmosphere is relaxing, cozy, and NICE.
-The waiter/service was amazing.
-The steak was even better. Best I have ever eaten. Perfectly seasoned, huge, tender, no fat, mouth-watering, etc. Literally melts in your mouth.
-Good desserts and sides.
Drawback? We used up the gift card with the one visit. Oh but what a visit it was. Mitch told me that he would bring me back for our 25th anniversary....oh man!
Fast-forward one year. By this time they had opened one in Salt Lake. We were celebrating our first anniversary and we were going to eat at Benihanas. After a prom group was given our reservation and dealing with an incompetent hostess, we decided to find somewhere else to eat. Guess what restaurant was right down the street? Ruth's Chris! I somehow convinced Mitch to take me there. It was pure heaven again. Then he said "Okay, the next time we come here will be for our 25th anniversary". I am counting down. Just 23 more years to go.
If you have the chance, go!

Steakhouse? Gosh, I wish I was more opinionated to have a favorite steakhouse. How about restaurant? One of your Thursday posts do restaurant and I'll tell you mine! Until then, I will anticipate the season premier of The Office!
Ruth's Chris is a great place to go, Derek and I went there for his birthday in June.
Our only complaint was that our water alone cost us $12. We were shocked haha, that place is expensive!
P.S. It's starting to get cold...the snow cones places are going to be closing soon..(wink, wink, nudge, nudge.)
Mark and I went to Ruth's Chris when we were in CA earlier in the year. We had heard it was a good steak place (you know, like Outback?) After we got in there and realized it was a little more expensive than we had expected, we debated whether or not we should leave. We decided to stay and just not pay our electricity bill for the month. It was way good though!
You'll have to get the filet mignon with mushrooms at Trattoria Delle Arte in NY. Ruths Chris is great, but that steak knocked my socks off. And they have a lemon creme brulee that is unbelievable.
