It began with a call from my dad that went something like this: "Um hi, I can't talk right now but I want to throw a surprise birthday party for mom. I already talked to Valynne. Call her. Bye." Click.
Amazingly with help from everyone around us, it all came together last Saturday. The main thing that kept me busy beforehand was I was trying to finish a 1001 Crane Mon for her birthday. I decided to do the "Tanaka Family Crest" which is my mom's mother's family (maternal grandmother).
I think it turned out pretty good. AND the party was so fun! Mom was really surprised and almost fell over when we yelled "surprise". It was quite funny. Thanks to all who attended!
And to my mom: You are the greatest ever! You are the woman I aspire to be like everyday. Thanks for everything. Love you!
