Fiddler On the Roof

As previously mentioned Mitch has been on a Fiddler On the Roof craze lately. So I finally brokedown and rented it (he didn't get to watch the whole thing when it was on KUED). I had only seen the first half (back in the VHS days this was on two tapes and we had to return the movie before I got to the second...)

Anyways....I have to admit it was good and I actually thought it was funny. I even think it should be added to the "Movies we should own" list.

But for those who have seen the movie...how crazy is the nightmare scene Tevye makes up to convince his wife that Tzeitel should marry Motel the poor tailor? Seriously! We will always need to fast forward that part I think....

Amen sister. The movie is good but the play is better. When it comes to your local SCERA Shell you should see it there. The nightmare scene works a little better.

We saw Fiddler on the Roof when we were in Rexburg with Ally. My kids loved it, although we did skip the dream. Being a mom with daughters, it makes me cry!

That dream part scares the HECK out of me. I think it is from listening to Dad's record of it when I was little and it scared me back then! I cannot watch it, when the music comes on, I get goose bumps all over. I showed the movie to my three oldest this past summer and they loved it. McKay goes around singing, "tradition, tradition...tradition!"
